“Load In The Loop” – Episode 2: Caches, Extensions, MSI in Magento 2

By Christophe Dujarric, on Nov 14, 2019

“Load in The Loop” is a podcast on Magento Performance created by Magento Performance experts Ivan Chepurnyi and Eric Hileman (CEO at MageMojo). Blackfire proudly sponsors this podcast, providing the tool to support the two experts in finding performance issues on merchant sites, and optimize it.

In this episode, Ivan and Eric inspect AdamsHorseSupply.com, using Magento 2.

They stumble upon a variety of issues, while checking the performance of the home, a category page and a product page. Un-activated caches, too many/unused extensions loaded are common issues in performance. Going further, they found a performance issue related to an old version or Magento Inventory (MSI).

Blackfire, thanks to the Magento performance recommendations, actually directly detects and tell you when a cache has been deactivated. Profiling after each deploy (which can be done automatically) quickly shows value with recommendations!

Check out the episode and figure out more solutions, performance tips, and how Ivan and Eric might create new extensions and/or contribute to the Magento 2 Core:
