COVID-19: Blackfire keeps running as a full remote team

By Christophe Dujarric, on Mar 13, 2020

The COVID-19 has a huge impact on the entire world today. In our “small” world of web development, this means we unfortunately won’t be able to meet communities at conferences. We’re sad about this. But the measures and decisions which are being taken to avoid spreading the pandemic are wise.

Now for all of those who, despite quarantines and other such constraints, will keep working: Blackfire, as a service, will remain available.

Our team inevitably will have to deal with the situation. Quarantine areas, kids having to stay home because of closed schools, and else. And we will find ways to deal with it: adjust work schedules, give team members some time off, find pragmatic solutions. Health and family are precious.

Still, Blackfire is a remote-first (well now, remote-only) company. Since more than 2 years now, our whole team works (or can work) on a daily basis from home. To the best of our abilities and skills, we will:

  • maintain the service
  • maintain customer support
  • develop further features

On this last point, we actually want to take this unfortunate situation as an opportunity to give more focus to some key product developments. Hopefully more to announce soon!

Stay safe and healthy.
