Paint it black: Dark mode is here

By Thomas di Luccio, on Apr 16, 2025

This is not a phase. This is who we are now.

You asked. You begged. Well, we heard you.

Blackfire now proudly supports Dark Mode – and no, it’s not just for the Emo kids among us (although we see you, and we love you). It’s for all of us who spend our days (and way too many nights) inside performance dashboards, timelines, and call graphs.

Why dark mode?

Because light burns.

Because it’s 2 AM, and your eyes deserve better.

Because when you’re debugging a memory leak at midnight, the last thing you need is a white screen screaming at you.

Simply put, dark mode looks cool. And let’s be honest – there’s just something about deep blacks and soft grays that make profiling feel a little more epic.

How to enable it?

You can switch to the dark side by heading to the toggle now available on the top right of your Blackfire Dashboard.

Find us on Discord (#blackfire-feedback-chat)  to tell us how you feel about this mode. What do you like about it? What could be improved? What else would you like to see?

A note from our inner teen

We’d like to dedicate this release to everyone who wore fingerless gloves in the summer, wrote bash scripts like they were poetry, and now optimizes database queries for a living. We know the darkness never left you.

Dark mode isn’t just a feature.
It’s a feeling.
It’s a state of mind.
It’s a lifestyle.

Welcome home. 🖤

To better observability and beyond
