Get Ibexa performance recommendations when profiling with Blackfire
Blackfire can now let you know if you comply with the performance best practices defined by the Ibexa team, anytime you profile your Ibexa app.
Ibexa is an Open Source content management platform, based on Symfony, which combines solutions for the daily needs of developers, editors and marketers. Ibexa knows that “Contents Means Business”, as per their tag-line, as their solution is used not only to build corporate websites, but also business critical apps, intranets, media sites or eCommerce site. And for all of those, Performance Means Business, as well.
Therefore, when André Romcke’s team discovered Blackfire, they immediately adopted it to continuously improve the performance of the Ibexa platform. As a matter of fact, they quickly became one of the most extensive users of Blackfire, creating dozens of metrics and assertions in order to test the performance of their code within their Quality Assurance processes.
When we released the performance recommendations feature, they also understood the huge potential behind it. As an Open Source framework editor, they have their own team of experts to develop web applications based on that framework. But they also have a network of partners and other web agencies who can freely adopt it. How to ensure that third parties would deliver web applications with an optimal use of the framework, regarding performance management? That’s exactly what the recommendations are useful for: define some best practices, and warn developers whenever they do not comply. André dedicated some resources to contributing to Blackfire.
Thanks to their work, Blackfire now natively supports Ibexa with a set of metrics and recommendations. How to benefit from it? You just need to profile your Ibexa app.
Happy Ibexa profiling,
