Blackfire now supports PHP 8.2

By Thomas di Luccio, on Nov 30, 2022

We are thrilled to announce the support of PHP 8.2 from its release date on December 8, 2022!

Especially as PHP 8.2 introduces some pretty cool new features, including Readonly classes, a new random number generator, Disjunctive Normal Form Types, Constants in Traits, and the possibility to redact parameters in backtraces

The new version of PHP also brings with it some deprecations, such as the Dynamic Properties, the `${}` string interpolation, the partially supported callables, and the `utf8_encode` and  `utf8_decode` methods.

So, as we do for every new PHP version release, we’ve added some specific recommendations relating to those PHP functions deprecations.. Helping to make the transition to PHP Version 8.2 as smooth as possible.

Find out about this release and all the new features on php.net.

Once PHP 8.2 is officially rolled out, make sure you upgrade to the latest version of the Blackfire probe so that you can try out and enjoy 8.2 for yourself.

Happy PHP Performance Optimization!
